Giving Flowers to Men
For Men
Most men love to receive flowers, many would never admit it. No matter who you are, receiving a gift of flowers will always make you feel special.
When deciding on a gift of flowers for a man, let the florist know what he likes and dislikes. Most men are drawn towards srtong colours in flowers.
Strong may not necessarily mean bright. Many men are drawn to burgandy, there are burgandys and burgandys, the one with the good depth of colour and life, is the one most men like. They may choose an orange, not the virbant orange, the solid orange with a good depth of colour too. Native flowers, like proteas, banksias and the like are goof ‘man’ flowers too.
These strong clolour are what I call ‘macho’ colours and there is the same ‘macho’ word for the arrangements sent to a man.
The flowers are best arranged in a container, not cut flowers he would have to put in a vase, unless you know he would prefer that.
The flowers can be arranged in a timber box, either natural or stained. For the handyman, there are many carry-type nail/tool boxes, these come in timber too. For a golfer, the florist can add golf balls or tees, maybe a golf towel. Wine is always acceptable and for the, as we say in Australia, the ‘blokey bloke’, his favourite beer in stubbies or cans, would definitely bring a smile to his face. Lots of men have a sweet tooth, so his favourite sweets or chocolates are a good addition to the flowers.
All in all, there are a myriad of ideas for sending flowers to a man. If you think of when he sends them to you, birthdays, anniversaries, a thank you or just because (the best time of all), then for any of these occasions, he would find them a wonderful surprise. Again ask your florist.
There have been surveys conducted and over 60% of men would love to receive flowers on Valentine’s Day.
