Party Flowers
In a party mood? Liven up your party with flowers, there are many ways to do this and have your guests remember a great night.
If you are having a dinner party, ask your florist to make up and arrangement for the center of the table. Get a few extra stems to add to the napkin rings, to carry the theme through. Have another arrangements made to go on the coffee and drinks tables, all slightly different but in the same theme, color co-ordinate with your china, glasses, tablecloths and napkins.
Floating flowers and candles always make up a lovely table centerpiece. You could add single flowers to small vases, one for each guest, with a name tag tied to the vase with pretty ribbons.
You can use flower petals scattered on the table, some lovely big candles in varying heights put amongst them. Be careful with the candles, some perfumed ones don’t go very well with food.
Make sure your entrance is welcoming. A beautiful bunch of flowers in a stunning vase will catch the eye of your guests. If you home is the uncluttered kind, then stems of gladiolus or iris in a large clear shaped vase will make a wonderful statement. Carry this through to your table and side tables.
If you are having a buffet, then the taller flowers, standing above the food platters can be stunning and laying a few single stems on the table amongst the plates will carry the theme through.
Don’t forget to check your garden for different types of foliage, you can do wonderful things with different colors in foliage. Varying shades of greens, maybe something with berries, red, green or gold. We tend to overlook what is under our noses sometimes.
When you get your party flowers from the florist make sure you keep them as cool as possible, don’t store fruit and flowers together, fruit emits a gas that can cause some flowers to wilt. For the cut flowers, make sure you cut the stems before placing them in water.
